of these services are offered free of charge. Medicare,
Medicaid, private health insurance, or NHH (through fundraising)

the Community, we provide:

educational programs concerning
end-of-life issues
- free
one-to-one and group grief and bereavement counseling
for all ages
- a
lending library with books
and videos about end-of-life issues
- innovative
healing retreats for people whose lives have been
touched by cancer and other life-limiting illnesses

- annual
December remembrance ceremonies in Waimea and Hawi

We
also provide:
input
on care plans designed by Public Health Nursing for
frail elderly in our community

assistance
hosting the Big Island Bereavement Network's overnight
camp for youth.

welcome invitations from schools, health care providers,
employers, and community groups to initiate caring conversations
about end-of-life issues and to provide bereavement support. |

An
Emergency Bereavement Support Team:
NHH
is a part of an Emergency Bereavement Team that assists
visitors who experience a loss or death while on the Island
of Hawaii. NHH staff members respond to calls for
grief and bereavement counseling. |
